Class description

IMPROV LEVEL 2 — Relationship & Behavior

This course builds on foundational improv skills and focuses on relationships, behavior, emotional response, and ensemble awareness. Over 10 weeks, students learn how scenes develop through interaction, connection, and shifting behavior.

Classes combine exercises, relationship-based scenes, behavioral exploration, emotional responsiveness, and ensemble work in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Participation in this course requires that you’ve gone through Improv Level 1 at Dice Theater, as it builds on the skills developed throughout the curriculum.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to create strong, believable relationships on stage
  • How behavior, emotion, and social dynamics drive scenes forward
  • Stronger listening, reaction, and emotional responsiveness
  • How to build scenes through interaction rather than invention
  • The atmosphere is supportive, exploratory, and collaborative. Mistakes are treated as opportunities for discovery, and students are encouraged to take risks, stay present, and respond truthfully to each other in the moment.

The course concludes with a showcase (optional) on our stage, where you'll have the opportunity to share what you've learned with friends, family, and fellow students.
